Originally built for the cultivation and growth of exotic plants and fruit, orangeries were classically grand buildings built separate from the main house. With stone parapet walls, housing large windows and doors, the grand buildings had glass roofs providing the ideal environment for cultivation.
Today orangeries are generally attached to main building and serve as elegant extension. Although the use of modern day orangeries may have changed, the beauty and extravagance of these light rooms provide an incredible atmosphere to any property.
